AAPM Introduces David Gammel as New Executive Director
Washington, D.C. (November 13, 2023) The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) has named C. David Gammel as its next Executive Director. Gammel will succeed Angela Keyser, who has served in the role since 2004. Starting January 2, 2024, he will become the fourth Executive Director in the organization’s 65-year history.
Gammel brings a vast array of experience to AAPM, including as Chief Practice Officer at McKinley Advisors, a leading association advisory services firm. His clients at McKinley Advisors included the National Academy of Medicine, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and Infectious Diseases Society of America. Additionally, Gammel previously served as Executive Director of the Entomological Society of America and on the board of directors of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), ASAE Foundation, and Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE).
Gammel earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Miami University and a master’s degree in international communication from American University. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and an ASAE Fellow.
