IASP Appoints Steve Gardner as New CEO
Washington, D.C. (January 2, 2024) – The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) welcomes Steve Gardner as the association’s new CEO. He was named IASP’s Interim CEO in August 2023 and begins the permanent CEO role on January 2, 2024.
Gardner brings extensive experience from a wide range of leadership roles in trade associations, a global nonprofit, and a communications consulting firm. His previous roles include serving as Interim CEO at the International Safety Equipment Association and Chief Operating Officer at the Corn Refiners Association. Gardner’s additional experience includes key executive and communications-focused positions at Crosby-Volmer International Communications, the American Chemistry Council, US Pharmacopeia, and The Aluminum Association. Additionally, he has led the formation of several nonprofit organizations and foundations.
Gardner holds a master’s degree in communications from the University of Louisiana and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maine.
