The Population Association of America (PAA) is pleased to announce that Tristanne Staudt will become its new Executive Director, effective July 14, 2025.
Staudt joins the PAA from the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), where she has served as Executive Director for the past four years, demonstrating strong leadership. Her selection follows a thorough vetting process conducted by both the PAA Search Committee and recruitment firm Sterling Martin, which included multiple rounds of interviews and culminated in in-person interviews with three finalists. Tristanne’s unique strengths and experiences are an excellent match for the PAA’s mission. She brings prior experience from similar associations, including AAPOR and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM). Her approach to financial stewardship, governance, and long-range planning aligns well with the PAA’s objectives. Notably, she has a proven track record of guiding associations from structural deficits to sustained surpluses, utilizing tools such as multi-year forecasting and public scorecards to promote transparency.
Staudt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Marketing from the University of Toledo and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Champlain College.
