The Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE America) seeks a visionary and collaborative Chief Executive Officer to lead the nation’s premier organization advancing health and physical education. Founded in 1885, SHAPE America serves more than 200,000 health and physical education professionals and advocates through its national membership and 50+ state affiliates. The organization is committed to ensuring all children are prepared to lead healthy, physically active lives through excellence in health and physical education.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic leadership, oversee organizational operations and financial stewardship, guide a talented virtual staff, strengthen membership and professional development programs, expand partnerships and revenue opportunities, and serve as the organization’s chief spokesperson with members, policymakers, educators, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring significant executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, association, or mission-driven organization; strong financial and governance expertise; exceptional communication and relationship-building skills; and a demonstrated ability to lead organizational growth and innovation. Experience in education, health, or related sectors is preferred.
