AIUM Introduces Dr. Steven R. Myers as Incoming CEO
Washington, D.C. (August 9, 2024) – The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is pleased to welcome Dr. Steven R. Meyers as its next CEO. His tenure begins on September 8, 2024.
Meyers brings extensive biomedical and association leadership experience to the organization. He joins AIUM from the Endocrine Society, where he served as both Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Membership Officer. Meyers previously worked at the American Chemical Society, where he started as Manager of International Activities and was promoted multiple times, including to Director of Career Advancement and Senior Director of Membership. His early career included positions at medical technology company Avedro, Inc., the National Science Foundation, and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. Meyers also co-founded and served as R&D Manager at SureMilk, LLC, where he invented and developed biosensors to enable at-home diagnostic testing for human breast milk.
He earned both a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Duke University, as well as a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University.
