(May 3, 2022) – The New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) recently announced the appointment of Calvin Harris, Jr., CPA as their incoming chief executive officer, effective June 1, 2022. Harris has 30 years of executive–level experience working with complex organizations in the nonprofit space.
Harris’ has a wide range of experience. including working as a CFO, auditor, forensic accountant, and consultant throughout his career. Harris joins NYSSCPA from his most recent role serving as Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer for the National Urban League (NUL), based in New York City. Prior to joining NUL, he was the Vice President for Administration and Finance for the Baltimore City Community College.
The Baltimore Business Journal named Harris a “Best in Finance: CFO” award recipient, and twice he has been named one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” by Accounting Today magazine. Calvin received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Morehouse College in 1992.
Founded in 1897, NYSSCPA is a 501(c)(6) membership association for certified public accountants (CPAs) and finance professionals in New York state, and aims to educate, connect, and grow the careers of its nearly 24,000 professional members.
