The Association for Molecular Pathology Hires Lauren Menser as next CEO

Washington, D.C. (November 16, 2023) The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) has announced Lauren “Laurie” Menser as its next Chief Executive Officer. She will succeed Mary Steele Williams, who is retiring after 12 years in the role and nearly 20 years at the organization. Menser’s first day as CEO will be January 3, 2024. 

Menser brings impressive experience to the role. She has served as AMP’s Director of Strategic Development since 2016, where she has substantially increased and diversified revenue, played a key role in the creation of AMP’s international events program, launched the AMP Corporate Advisory Council, and led the Membership and Marketing and Communications teams. Menser previously worked at the American Society for Investigative Pathology, first as Marketing Manager and then as Director of Marketing and Development. 

Menser earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). A longtime champion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), she earned a DEI in the Workplace certificate from the University of South Florida and is a team lead for AMP’s DEI Action Plan.
