The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Welcomes New Executive Director

Washington D.C. (January 6, 2022) – The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) welcomes C. Grace Whiting, JD as their new Executive Director. Whiting’s professional experience includes 14 years within the nonprofit sector, including almost four years as President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC).

Whiting started in 2013 as the Manager, Programs and Communications for NAC. She worked in various roles before her most recent as NAC’s President and CEO. Whiting received her Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis in 2011. While in law school, Whiting started an “Alternative Spring Break” legal clinic program that continues to this day, in her student leadership role with the Public Action Law Society. Whiting also pushed the University of Memphis to recognize students with more than 120 hours of public service at graduation with an honors cord for certified pro bono volunteer hours.

Whiting’s service work was recognized by Memphis Bar Association with the award of a small scholarship and the Irvin Bogatin Social Justice Award in 2010. Whiting also completed more than 160 pro bono service hours through the Memphis Area Legal Services housing program and the U.S. Navy JAG Corps Legal Services Office in New Orleans.
