The National Communication Association Appoints Dr. Shari E. Miles-Cohen as New Executive Director

Washington D.C. (November 27, 2021) – The National Communication Association (NCA) recently announced the appointment of Dr. Shari E. Miles-Cohen as its new Executive Director. Dr. Miles-Cohen brings more than 30 years of experience in member associations, research-focused nonprofits, and academia.

She joins NCA from her most recent role with American Psychological Association (APA). She served multiple leadership roles for APA over her 14 years with the organization, most recently as their Senior Director, Human Rights Team. Miles-Cohen holds a doctorate in Personality Psychology from Howard University. She worked toward her doctorate while serving various leadership roles for the Women’s Research and Education Institute (WREI), finishing her last two years with the organization as Executive Director.  She will begin her role as Executive Director for NCA on January 3, 2022.
