Renée Byng Yancey Enters as President and CEO of CFNOVA
Washington, D.C. (January 29, 2024) – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia welcomes Renée Byng Yancey as President and CEO. January 29, 2024, marks her first day in the role.
Yancey’s expertise includes more than 30 years of philanthropic work in community foundation, higher education, and membership association settings. Most recently, she was the Chief External Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), where her responsibilities included leading the research, marketing, communications, and membership functions. Her previous experience includes serving as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Equal Measure, Vice President of the Council on Foundations, Diversity Faculty Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Washington State University Vancouver, and Development Director at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.
Yancey earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Eastern University and her master’s degree in the science of instruction from Drexel University. She received an honorary doctorate from Peirce College in 2021, where she currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.
